Sixth Day in Paris - Versailles

We continued our journey to Versailles where we arrived at 3 pm. Strapped for time we were only allowed 25 minutes to view the enormous gardens, over 2000 acres, hardly enough time. We had to meet back with our guide for our tour at 3:30 pm.

The Gardens at Versilles

The museum was very crowded, not very pleasant; it was an abrupt change from the peacefulness of Giverny. Nonetheless, it was interesting to explore and to learn about the height of the French Royalty, when Louis XIV moved from Paris to Versailles (1682), and their fall, when the French people revolted and beheaded Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette (1789).
